January 2018 Minutes

Cliftondale Community Club, Inc.
January 8, 2018
The Cliftondale Community Club, Inc. met January 8, 2018 at the Cliftondale Community Center. Six members and guests were present. (The low attendance was due to a combination of winter weather and the evening’s broadcast of the College Football Championship game featuring the University of Georgia and the University of Alabama in Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium.)
Vice President Marcus Carter presided and provided the opening prayer.
Zoning Committee Interim Chair Bruce Moody discussed two related zoning applications for the Butner-Stonewall Tell area. Signature Cascade subdivision proposes 77 single family lots in two pods on 26.3 acres; Signature Senior Living proposes a 150-bed assisted living facility, a 50-bed memory care facility, 42 independent living cottages, and 90 independent living apartments on 40.0 acres. Mr. Moody will ask Communications Committee Chair Jack Liles to email the plans and announce a community meeting to discuss the projects.
There was discussion of the on-going issue of regulating heavy truck traffic on surface roads and the status of the City’s transition to waste collection.
Consultant Storm Mitchell summarized several issues that have arisen between the County and the City of South Fulton over funding road improvement projects.
The meeting was adjourned.
